The Hadley DNA Project General Fund is an account we have with FamilyTreeDNA that we can apply to the new Project participant's test kits. The Project's board of directors (John, James, and Brad Hadley), with input from other participants, and from contributers, establish the policy for where these funds are applied.
Usually we apply the funds to encourage new participants that may help expand results that we consider important for the project. In the past we have applied funds to get participants from England, as well as from specific Hadley lines.
We got the initial funding from contributions from some of the participants and from others interested in Hadley research. Last year we introduced the Hadley DNA Project affiliate program, where we signed up for affiliate programs with selected merchants, such as Amazon.com, who pay a small commission for purchases that result from links from our web site. The results so far have been disappointing, but with your help we can raise some additional funds this way, at no cost to you or those who use the links. If you or someone you know buys from these places anyway, please use our links.
